The Shannon Lake Golf & Country Club was the venue for their Seniors Open on Friday the 24th of August. The day was a little nippy at the start of play as we had just under gone several days of cool and wet weather. As the morning progressed the sun came out and we returned to the Okanagan temperatures that we have come to expect at this time of the year. The course was in excellent shape and the greens were easy to read and ran true to course. This is a very good track (I believe it is under rated by many golfers who did not enter ) and was a pleasure to play.

One of the reasons I enter all the Senior tournaments in the valley is because of the challenge each course presents to my competitive spirit which stems from my younger days when I was regarded as a good competitor and could hold my own with many golfers.....How ever the years have gone by and now I enter to greet old friends and make new ones....While the drive to win or place well is still there..It's not as important as it once was.....I see the same faces at each tournament and it feels like a re-union is taking place....soon the season will be over and I won't see these happy faces for another year.....
