May 5th, 2001 - Seniors Zone II Report Osoyoos Golf and Country Club
The first Senior's tournament in the Okanagan Valley was held at the
Osoyoos Golf and Country Club on Friday,May 5th. This golf course is a
27 hole layout consisting of three, nine hole tracks called the PARK,
MEADOWS, and DESSERT. In all Senior tournaments the participants use the
white "T" blocks and in the case of this tournament the Park and Meadows
course were combined to give the golfer's a challenging distance of just
under 6000 yards. The course was in great shape and the two new green's
opened this year proved to be a real test for the putting talents of the
golfer's.
OVERALL LOW GROSS WINNER : Derek Bennett (69) & runner up was Hugh McNeil (72)

NOTE : all ties were broken by count back or retrogression.
Once again, as I have done in the past.... I must thank all the tournament Volunteers....these are the people who make the
tourney a success...without their help we the players would be hard pressed to enjoy the game.
