The Senior Men's Club at the Fairview Mountain Golf Course in Oliver held there Seniors Open on Friday, the 7th of September. The Course was in Great shape and the weather was sunny and warm ... BUT... A very strong wind was blowing for most of the day making shot's into the wind some what difficult. I was assured by my playing partner from the club that this was unusual and he looked at the bright side of things by happily saying …"wait until we hit down wind and see what happens" ….The combination of wind and lightening fast green's did not brighten my personal score as was indicated by a four putt from six feet on the 8th hole . This was a very well run and organized tournament. On the executive committee was : Keith Belliveau, Bob Harris, Peter Wickland, George Sabo, Harold Popoff, and Terry Matatall. The Master of Ceremonies was Dave Lindsay and the Lady Volunteers were : Doreen Harris, Fran Belliveau, Pat Beauchamp, Paula Wegner, Barb Wickland and Shirley Polk.
