One of our faithful viewers to the BCgolfguide.com was gracious to
provide our readers with a mexican style golf holiday in beautiful Cabo San Lucas.
Dennis and entourage stayed at the Coral Baja located close to San Jose del Cabo. This area
is geared more towards the traveller needing relaxation than excitement.
We would probably have golfed at the municipal course in San Jose if we had
not taken the time-share tour. This course is ok and you are paying around
$40 for 9 holes. I recommend the time-share speech because they pay all your
incidental expenses up to that point. With taxi, lunch and golf I felt we
got our moneys worth compared to any other racket.
We settled into your condo and we phoned to confirm our tee time at the
Cabo San Lucas Golf Club. Upon arriving at this oasis in the desert we were
surprised at meeting a gentleman from Edmonton
who was selling time shares as a retirement nest-egg. We went for a tour of
the existing junior, one bedroom and two bedroom suites. Awesome! They
were unbelievable.
Then a tour of the golf course itself. Awesome! I am
not kidding. If I had the many thousands of dollars to buy I would have.
We politely sat through his presentation, enjoyed an awesome lunch (on
them) then left in a taxi which they paid for. We booked four tee times the
following week and enjoyed the best golf since November. I recommend this
course without coercion. If you can afford the cost of golf the courses
I saw would make your heart palpitate. This course was one of the most
reasonable of all in the area. The pro said that the prices will only go
up because of demand.
My family (sans wife) rented ATV quads during the second last day of our holiday. The owner, friendly Ned, was from Ontario and had been in San Jose for the last 12 years and loved it. A family from Edmonton owned the Liquor Barn, an establishment of great renown. Snorkeling is awesome at certain beaches that provide equipment rentals at a reasonable price. When leaving BAJA be sure to go to the "duty free" store upstairs in the airport as opposed to the "airport free tax" on the main floor. This is designed to be confusing for the unwary traveller. There is also a store just for Tequila. I highly recommend this as the prices and selection are mouthwatering. |
