Alberta Golf Packages:
Whether you are travelling to Alberta on business or to see the incredible Rocky Mountains up close on vacation do not forget your clubs because you are in for a treat. Just 2 hours west of Calgary, an Alberta golf vacation in the shadow of these majestic mountains is like no experience on Earth. The spectacular views, local wildlife and natural features make it very difficult to concentrate on your game. But you will have to, since these courses are no push over. Every club in your bag will be used while you navigate around boulders, over icy rivers, down tree-lined fairways to plush, rolling greens. After your round be sure to enjoy your favorite beverage on the deck as you breathe in fresh air and remember the wait on the 5th hole as you watched the coyote cross the fairway. Alberta golf courses in this area tend to open around the middle of May and run through September.
Silvertip Golf Course
Located in Canmore, this challenging design is a treat to play. Elevation drops are plentiful and the views of the surrounding mountains are incredible. The outside patio is a great spot for post-game stories about your Alberta golf holiday.
Stewart Creek Golf Course
Also located in Canmore, you will need to keep the driver in the bag for most of the round. The tight, tree-lined fairways will make you gear back a little and play for accuracy, not distance.
Canmore Golf Course
This is the first course built in Canmore and plays along the river. It's perfect for all handicappers and while private it does allow limited outside play. It's a great first day addition to your Alberta golf trip.
Banff Springs Golf Course
This Stanley Thompson classic design is the crowned jewel in the region. This course should be on your bucket list since it's been a top 10 Canadian favourite for decades. Remember that the elk have the right of way on the fairways.
Kananaskis Country Golf Course
Offering one of the most spectacular and accessible destination golf experiences in Alberta, Kananaskis Country Golf Course is the location of world-class yet easy-going mountain golf. Whether it is your first visit and or fiftieth, these 36 holes will make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive.
Accommodations in this region vary from standard hotels to a 5-star gem like the Fairmont Banff Springs Resort in Banff. The Banff townsite is a popular spot in the summer so availability can be tight. If you prefer something less busy, then stay in Canmore only 20 minutes down the highway. This town also features standard hotels including the Coast Canmore Hotel plus multi-bedroom condo units at the Solara Resort and Grande Rockies Resort, The Canmore Inn & Suites, Canmore Rocky Mountain Inn or The Blackstone Mountain Lodge that are all great for socializing after your Alberta golf games.
Located 3 hours north of Banff is Jasper, home to the world famous Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge GC. The Stanley Thompson design is annually ranked inside the top 10 best golf courses to play in Canada.
