August 14th, 2000 - Kamloops Golf & Country Club
The Kamloops Seniors Open was held on Monday, August 14th, at the Kamloops Golf and Country
Club. This Club is one of the oldest in Kamloops. It is a semi- private course but the public is very
welcome. Most green's can be reached on second and third shot's on the par 4's and 5's. The fairway's
are flat and lush and very generous in width. There is some water (lakes) on several holes and many
sand traps that come into play with wayward shots. A fun course to play.
The tournament had a full entry. 144 players from all over the area took part and some of the scores
were excellent as you will see from the stats. Unfortunately, the method used to keep score did not
identify the players home course and therefore I'm unable to give credit to where the players came
from. Greg Bregoliss, the club captain did say that many were out of town visitors, and that their
participation was appreciated.
This following statistical format is different from the past reports because I can't identify the origin of
the players, but, hopefully some of you will recognize their names an let them know they were
mentioned on the bc golf guide internet site as part of Zone II Seniors Tournament Reports.
* Overall low gross winner was Larry Stone with a score of (67).
Last but not least, my foursome of Don Bacon(86), Al Swaine(91), Bill Long (83) and myself with an
(82). What fun bunch to play a round of golf with.
***ALL TIES BROKEN BY COUNT BACK***
That's it for this time around folks. Until the next time....where ever you are....have a happy day!
