There is a new course in the Okanagan Valley and his name is Canoe Creek. This yet to open course is the latest addition to championship golf just minutes from the Salmon Arm Golf Club.

I had the opportunity to walk the course with Head Golf Professional Hall Thomlinson (formly this past Aug 9th while heading back from Banff. Wow, what a course this will be. Compliments to Marc Pezzin - a co partner that is also on-site directing machinery as to where earth, sand, and rock are to be placed.

I stood on the 8th green, a beautifully unblemished sheet of putting heaven, as I looked around with a panoramic view of the course, this will be one fair and testing course for all players. Easily walkable with just a few holes that have any kind of extreme elevation change.

Approximately 1/2 the fairways are greening up nicely and the greens are literally ready to be tested. The course management anticipates that the course will open in late summer 2006, and with the remaining 9 holes and ready for May 2007.

Canoe Creek will be a fantastic addition to the Salmon Arm area to compliment Hyde Mountain on Mara Lake Golf Course and the ever popular and mature Salmon Arm Golf Club just minutes away.
