Hole number five, known as the “double cross” requires shooting across the Columbia River twice from the Championship Tees. Fortunately, the other tees reduce the water crossing as they get shorter. Talk to people in Portland Oregon and mention this signature Riverside Golf course hole and they may look at you oddly. As in Portland the Columbia River is over 1 mile wide, yet in the BC Rockies, the Columbia River is an infant in size.
Riverside Golf course has won the top title for a golf course as “Canada’s golf course of the year” in 1998, and the Riverside Golf course and Estates is well recognized among Canada’s finest golf communities. It offers an unparalleled lifestyle opportunity for home ownership in a spectacular wilderness and recreational setting.

In October 2007, my husband Gerald and I celebrated our forty-third anniversary at Fairmont, B.C. We enjoyed our stay at the Riverside condos and managed to golf three times at Riverside. We especially enjoyed the Nine "n" Dine on our anniversary. And Oh yes, the fresh air and the view of the Canadian Rockies are fantastic also.
