Golf The Kootenays Christina Lake Golf
Club Perfectly situated near one of British Columbia's most
popular recreational lakes, the Christina Lake Golf Club is a little slice
of paradise for the many visitors who flock to these warm, inviting waters
every year. The unique championship course, which features black copper
slag in the bunkers, was designed by popular Canadian architect Les Furber.
Granite Point at Nelson Overlooking one of Canada’s
most celebrated mountain cities, with splendid views of Kokanee Glacier
Provincial Park, the Granite Pointe Golf Club is yet another gem in the
Kootenay Rockies. The course, which underwent a complete overhaul
by acclaimed architect Bill Newis in 1993, traverses through hilly terrain
and features a number of risk-reward holes requiring precise shot-making.
Rossland Trail Golf Course This is truly a one-of-a-kind
golf experience. Built in 1928 in a picturesque mountain alpine setting,
this hilly course features rumpled fairways and challenging greens (there
is even a rope-tow to help you up one of the hills!)Just outside the beautiful
alpine city of Rossland, this course is a classic test that just keeps
getting better with age. Balfour Golf Course
A prestigious 18 hole Les Furber designed facility complete with a driving
range, putting green, a full fleet of rental carts and a new first-class
clubhouse. Players will find the front nine carved neatly through
a forested region with sand and water hazards strategically placed; while
the back nine uses the mountains to provide elevation from tee to green
and a scenic view across Kootenay Lake to the Purcell Mountains. Rossland
Trail (Birchbank) The 18 hole Birchbank course, located on
the banks of the Columbia River, is mature, tree-lined and loaded with
holes that seem like they've been there forever. Opened in 1967, this
championship course promises and delivers a true test of golf, and more
than a few surprises along the way. Kokanee Springs Golf Resort
Kokanee Springs Resort is one of Canada's finest championship 18 hole
courses. This graceful track, considered by many to be the flagship of
Kootenay golf courses, resides in a magnificent mountain setting on Kootenay
Lake. Every hole is framed by spectacular panoramic views of the Kokanee
Glacier and surrounding area. Castlegar Golf Course
The Castlegar Golf Club, located in the Kootenay Rockies is a golfer's
paradise, a perfect location for a serene excursion from the hectic pace
